About this deal

I am a huge fan of Halloween and love decorating my porch to greet our neighborhood kids. This past year I gave away a couple dozen copies of my own picture books along with candy, which was a huge hit. I live in Baltimore with my family, including my silly, spooky kid, and love animals, especially dogs and horses. This past Halloween, my daughter wanted to dress up as a dentist, of all things, so my husband and I went along dressed up as giant teeth. She never got the irony of asking for candy while dressed as a dentist. We’ll have to wait until she is older for that. I have a lot of cousins. Dozens upon dozens of cousins. And growing up all I did was play outside with these cousins, sunrise to sunset.

This was phenomenal. Nice and creepy with a fun ensemble cast of smart, resourceful kids fighting to take down a monster. If you want a middle grade with a Nightmare On Elm Street atmosphere, I'd recommend this one for sure. It's time for bed. But will Fred go to bed? You bet he won't! From hiding up trees, and splashing in muddy puddles, to hiding in the kitchen sink and disappearing behind bookshelves, Fred will do ANYTHING to avoid bedtime. He would even prefer to have a bath. But what's this? All that running around couldn't possibly have made Fred sleepy . . . could it? Seven of the contenders are aspiring and favorite: A social media fitness model, a graffiti artist, a YouTube prank show hostess, an app developer/ house sitter, a jewelry designer/ dog walker, a zealous CrossFit Instructor, an actress with severe food allergies I couldn’t work out the solution to the mystery for most of the book, even at that I only deduced part of it! I’m not slipping, it’s just a particularly good mystery! 😅Hide and Seek will be published by Transworld - an imprint of @penguinbooksireland - on 2 August 2022. I received an advance digital copy courtesy of the publishers. I write books for children of all ages but I began with picture books, and they will always have a special place in my heart. I like all different types of picture books. Sometimes we read for pure entertainment, and sometimes to find out about the world, but the books on this list hit the sweet spot between the two. They are all books that will inspire further conversation and might even lead to related projects at school or home.

Seven days. That is not a long time. You must be better than the others at hiding and maybe, just maybe, you could be the winner!Simple shapes and succinct story express big ideas. Makes us consider fear of strangers, the power of the imagination, being brave and standing by friends" Sunday Times This book I can see being good for some people, however this is one book that I can actually say I feel as though I wasted my time reading it. Without these personal relationships, the book doesn't have quite the depth of some of the later Rebus-novels, but the crime-story and solution is decent enough. One by one, the kids will start having a spiral looking mark appear on the insides of their wrists over the next couple days......and one the one the kids will start to disappear having to play a game of Hide and Seek with 'The Seeker'!!!
